You can reach the summit with a quiet walk through the woods, using the panoramic funicular (from March to November) or trying your hand at the exciting ‘via ferrata’ along the rocky wall. Lugano, the beating heart of Canton Ticino, is the perfect destination to satisfy your desire for shopping and mundane social life, but also your thirst for art and culture.

A visit to the Cathedral of San Lorenzo and the Church of Santa Maria degli Angioli, which houses works and frescoes of extraordinary beauty, is a must. Events for every season

During the year Lugano is home to numerous national and international events.
If you have planned a summer visit, you can attend LongLake Lugano, a festival of concerts and open-air shows that, starting at the end of May, colours the city for over a month.

The first of August is National Day, an opportunity to watch fireworks on the lake and participate in the celebrations for the birth of the Confederation.

And finally, a visit to the Christmas markets – which transform the town into an enchanted village – is a must from the last days of November until the Epiphany.

Lake Como

From the Swiss Diamond Hotel you can also reach Lake Como in a few minutes and enjoy the fascinating views that make it famous all over the world.

A visit to Como – holiday destination of the ancient nobility of Lombardy – where you can admire the wonderful villas overlooking the lake is a must.
